Brilliant post Bex. You've discovered one of the few things that can really reverse the destruction of the planet. The simple act of slowing down, buying less, and connecting more is a direct challenge to the destructive politics and economics that surround us. Still there are those that wish that we could consume even faster. I noticed a book called 'Rush' by some economist in the US gov in which he writes that we need stress and constant rushing in order to find health and meaning. I'm sure he won't feel that way after his first stroke. Enjoy your new experiment with freedom and genuine living.

I know this is not really about coal mine canaries but did u know they still use canaries in Colombia to detect methane? No wonder they have so many coal mine explosions there.

If I had to guess what you're really allergic to, I think it would be the oil&gas lobbyists in DC. They are known health hazards!

This is excellent. I knew about vinegar for mirrors and windows back from my professional cleaning days as a chambermaid... no windex for me, but had never realized the potential of borax, baking soda etc to replace Comet and Ajax or how to get rid of PineSol.

I think hydrogen peroxide is actully a very low concentration of bleach. Hence calling someone with peroxided hair a Bleach blonde, but it is a good disinfectant for germs. It can also be used for feline first aid, but that would be another blog.

Oh and if you are really clever you won't need to even buy a spray bottle, just rinse out one that you get for something else.
